Health Aide Studies
Description
This fifteen(15) week certificate program is designed to prepare learners for employment as Health Aides or Orderlies in various healthcare delivery system settings. The course comprises three components: a Health Science core, which introduces fundamental concepts, principles and competencies for Health Aides and the Technical and Clinical/practical competencies taught in the clinical laboratory and a practicum in various healthcare settings.
During the practicum experience, learners are afforded opportunities to provide basic patient care and other attending skills required across the health care system i.e. the community setting and in both general and specialty hospitals or other long-term care institutions.
Participants are awarded a certificate upon successful completion.
