A CORE-COURSE, PRE-REQUISITE TO ALL OTHER COURSES IN ENGLISH (ALONG WITH OTHER E 10B OR E 10C). THE COURSE WILL STUDY SAMPLES OF POETRY IN ENGLISH FROM VARIOUS CULTURES AND PERIODS TO PROMOTE AN UNDERSTAND-ING OF HOW POETRY WORKS

Introduction to Prose Fiction (E 10B)

STUDENTS WILL BE INTRODUCED TO SOME OF THE THEORY AND THE CRITICAL VOCABULARY ASSOCIATED WITH FICTION. THEY WILL BE TRAINED IN THE PRAC-TICAL CRITICISM OF PROSE PASSAGES AND WILL ALSO RECEIVE A BRIEF INDI- CATION OF THE DEV. OF PF AND NON-ENGLISH LANG CONTRIB. TO THE GENRE.
